Everyone is looking for a quick trip to celebrate his or her time away from school this spring. Whether you are traveling with friends or family, San Luis Obispo, only two hours from Calabasas, is a great day trip that everyone will enjoy.
The town provides a variety of activities to keep you busy for an entire day.  For one thing, this destination is home to various restaurants that range from Thai to Italian, but all are equally delicious. My personal favorite is Giuseppe’s, an Italian restaurant that has perhaps the best pizza in California. Another great place to eat in this area is Ciopinot, which has all sorts of great beach food such as burgers, steak, Mexican, and much more.
San Luis Obispo also has breathtaking beaches with some of the longest shorelines I have ever seen. You can kick back and relax, maybe play a game or two of beach volleyball, or try something a little different like snorkeling and riding the sand dunes on recreational vehicles, two great beach activities that San Luis Obispo is known for.
For those history buffs, this area has a vibrant and diverse history. You can visit the beautiful San Luis Obispo Mission and learn about the history of this establishment. There is also a unique exhibit, in San Luis Obispo,that is known as French Connections, which tells the story of a French adventurer who married into a Spanish speaking family in the second half of the nineteenth century. On top of all this history, San Luis Obispo is home to the widely known, Hearst Castle. This 90,000 square feet mansion is composed of a blend of European designs that include Spanish and Victorian architecture.
Juniors and Seniors can also check out a renown college in this area. Cal-Poly is a university that is known for it’s engineering, agricultural, and architectural programs. This college is nationally ranked and has one of the largest campuses covering over 9,000 acres of land. This is a great way to persuade your parents to go to San Luis Obispo.
