On Oct. 8, Gossip Girl will return for its final, shortened season. This is the last season to get a special peek into life in the Upper East Side and the scandalous lives of Manhattan’s elite. This last season will return to the roots of the first season. Serena is back to her ritual of insobriety and Blair is (for once) not dating anyone. Lily and Rufus are officially divorced and Lily had already moved on to Bart Bass, who came back from the dead in season five. This last season will put all the pieces together and has the potential to change all of the characters. After many seasons of building up their romance, I hope Blair and Chuck will finally end up together. Additionally, I hope Serena and Blair’s friendship will rekindle and the young adults of the show will mature into a better version of their parents. I anticipate the return of some familiar faces. Perhaps Jenny? Or possibly Vanessa? Maybe Gossip Girl will even unveil her true identity…or will that be a secret she will never tell? You know you love her. Xoxo.
