Academy of Media Entertainment Awards

Academy+of+Media+Entertainment+Awards

The CHS Arts, Media and Entertainment Academy will host its second annual AME Academy Awards night this upcoming Tuesday in the Performing Arts and Entertainment Center at 6:30 p.m. AME teachers will present students with a variety of awards from their English, history and broadcasting classes. Along with awards for effort and student achievements in each grade level, there will also be an award given to one senior for his or her overall success and achievement within the Academy. This award encompasses all aspects of the Academy and recognizes the student’s accomplishments, ability to work well with peers and creative ideas. This year the AME program will be having Chef Allen and the CHS Culinary Arts Department cater the event.

This is the first year that the freshman class is involved in AME. As a result, more teachers will be involved in award ceremony. These teachers include Ms. Foley, Mr. Gersh, Ms. Selke, Mr. Lopez, Mr. Edsall, Mrs. Seeck, Mr. Goldman and Mrs. Knost.

The 2012-2013 AME class has had numerous achievements over the course of the school year, including Film Festival awards as well as successful interdisciplinary projects that were viewed by a panel of experts. These professionals included a professional documentary filmmaker and a history professor from California Lutheran University. This year was also the first year that the AME classes presented live broadcasts and sporting event webcasts. Additionally, the broadcasting class was involved in more art events and promoted West Side Story, the first musical held in the Performing Arts and Entertainment Center.

AME students, along with the support of their teachers, have worked hard throughout the year and in turn have been recognized for their many award-winning films.
