In the heart of Los Angeles, a new restaurant has stolen the spotlight in the food industry. Branching out from his first successful culinary endeavor, Umami Burger, founder Adam Fleischman’s new restaurant, ChocoChicken, has become notorious in the L.A. community, combining the two most comforting foods: chocolate and chicken.

Chicken has been fried in many things, but not chocolate, until now. ChocoChicken keeps the home-cooked feel to foods while adding a twist. The distinctive new restaurant makes chicken infused with chocolate.

“Chocolate is not there to make sweetness, it is there to make more of a savory experience,” said Fleischman to the Los Angeles Times. “It just adds a lot more complexity because a lot of fried chicken is bland because they do not do much to the chicken, the flavor is all in the coating.”

Besides the chocolate chicken, ChocoChicken has many other delicacies on its menu that include white chocolate mashed potatoes, duck fat fries, caramelized bacon and even chocolate ketchup! For desert, it serves mouth-watering chocolate s’mores. This fast-food restaurant is also known for its super buttery biscuit, which the menu jokes is 70 percent butter. As a healthier alternative, the menu includes raw vegetables, drizzled with original homemade spicy miso sauce.

Because Chocochicken is an upcoming eatery, Fleishman is looking for more unique things to offer the masses. The chefs plan to introduce more peculiar food items to L.A. such as zesty caviar, Southern grits and Parmesan ice cream.

Along with the delectable food, the environment of ChocoChicken is welcoming and lively. The interior of the joint is very industrial and equipped with small intimate tables. The restaurant has a modern theme, only sporting silver and dark wood colors. ChocoChicken is enhanced with a full service bar, with a flat screen TV placed above the wooden panels. On game nights, sport fans come stampeding in to enjoy chocolaty chicken while rooting for their favorite teams.

ChocoChicken plans to add exciting additions to its menu and open another location in Santa Monica very soon. When searching for a scrumptious fast-food fix, look no further than ChocoChicken; this eatery might be your new favorite spot.
