Prom: What to Wear

Prom%3A+What+to+Wear

Perfect date, check.  Perfect hair, check.  Perfect makeup, check.  Perfect outfit, missing! Not to worry, the CHS Courier has some tips on what to wear to prom.

Ladies, here are a few looks that will make you stand out in a sea full of people at prom.   If you are going for a romantic look, wear a pastel dress for an ethereal vibe, preferably lavender.   Not only will you look angelic but also the lighter dress against your skin will make you glow and appear tanner.  This delicate dress is perfect if you are looking for your last night of romance with your high school sweetheart.

If you want a sultry, glamorous look, wear a red dress that will match your matte, red lipstick.  In order to achieve the Hollywood look, opt for a gown with an open back, a slit along the side or jewels to compliment the elegant and classy vibe.   Match the dress with a pair of black pumps and a smoky eye, and you will dazzle the night away.

Prom is supposed to be the most exciting night of your high school career.  Instead of getting dolled up, you can also go for a fun look.  Blue with jewels or anything metallic and shiny will assure everyone that you are here to have the time of your life.  Whatever you choose to wear, make sure your outfit matches your date’s attire for the couple photos.  After all, you will probably show these pictures to your kids one day.

Although prom is a night for girls to feel glamorous, gentlemen should also get dressed up for an amazing night.  Be sure to sport an eclectic bowtie that matches your date’s attire.  If you want to continue your spunky look, wear a matching pair of suspenders. For those who strive for a simple yet classy look, wear a black tuxedo with a red tie.  Most importantly, make sure you wear a pair of comfortable shoes to dance the night away.
