LVUSD will instate a district wide vaccine mandate

California Governor Gavin Newsom recently announced a plan to require all California schools to mandate vaccinations for eligible students.

Starting on Jan. 1, 2022, students will not be able to attend classes on campus if they are not vaccinated.  For students in sixth grade and below, the vaccine mandate will begin on July 1,  2022.

If any student at an LVUSD school is opposed to the vaccine or unable to get the vaccine, they will not be able to attend the school anymore. Those students will either have to attend the Virtual Academy that LVUSD provides or attend a private institution.

LVUSD will be a part of the first set of school districts in the country to enforce the mandate.
