The final CHS vocal concert of the year is set to take place tonight at 7 p.m. and will feature both the choir and a capella groups Bare Rhythm and Unstrumental. Students in the vocals groups are excited to showcase their skills and believe the friendships between group members will be evident on stage.

Freshman choir member Quinn Plowman looks forward to demonstrating what she has learned this year at the performance, as well as continuing to develop her abilities in the fall. Next year, CHS is opening a second, more advanced choir that can be joined by auditioning through Choir 1.

“I’m so excited to showcase what I’ve learned this year,” said Plowman. “Since it is my first year ever in a choir, I’ve gained lots of knowledge and experience that can help me in other facets of my life. I also can’t wait to continue choir next year to expand my horizons and do more advanced music.”

The choir program is fresh off both a first-place finish and Most Outstanding Choir award at the recent Seattle Heritage Music Festival, and students are looking forward to the concert as a culmination of their efforts.

“Choir as well as the music program in general is a tight-knit community,” said three-year music student Arena Habibi. “Especially with the Seattle trip, we all have bonded so much. And with this finale concert, we really get to end the year with a bang! Especially after our high placements and performances at the Heritage Music Festival, we’ve worked very hard to bring forth high quality music for the last concert of the year, and we are all very excited to showcase our hard work.”

The concert will feature senior solos and a variety of genres, including pop, rock, a capella and choral.
