Though many may believe Coachella is all about the music, Coachella’s food scene is just as impressive as its bands. Whether you are in the mood for a Mexican or Asian dish, Coachella has your food cravings covered this year with its addition of new food trucks.
This year Coachella welcomes chefs Susan Feniger’s and Sue Milliken’s Border Grill food truck. This Mexican food truck is sure to satisfy any taco, quesadilla or tamale desire. One item the Border Grill truck is famous for is its cone. The truck’s cones have fillings, such as refreshing ceviche or tamale, making them a fan favorite, and if you are in the mood for something sweet and spicy, the churro tots are a must-have.
Another truck that will make an appearance is the famous Kogi food truck. This truck features tacos with an Asian twist. Kogi takes the most delicious aspects of Korean barbecue and fuses them with the simplicity of a traditional taco. One of Kogi’s most popular items is the Calamari Taco, topped with lettuce and sesame-chili salsa roja. Another favorite is the Black Jack Quesadilla, a tortilla filled with cheddar cheese, jack cheese, spicy pork and caramelized onions. Be sure to indulge in Chocolate Tres Leches cake as well. This truck’s out-of-the-box dessert is sure to cool your taste buds after a fiery meal and be the ideal end to a day full of dancing. The cake consists of spiced peanut brittle, Cocoa Pebbles, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, toffee, cayenne pepper and cinnamon, creating one sticky, sugary cake.
