Follow the Courier’s bucket list to have the most exciting and productive summer yet. Take a picture of yourself conquering each item on the list, and at the end of the summer, you can create a scrapbook detailing your adventures.
1. Invite all of your best friends over to camp out in your backyard and sleep under the stars.
2. Build a fort in your living room made of blankets and pillows, as you did when you were a child. Make popcorn and fall asleep in your fort while watching your favorite movie!
3. Go on an early morning hike to watch the sunrise. Try the Vanalden trail, the best place to go hiking in Los Angeles.
4. Write a letter to a company in an attempt to receive free things. You may be surprised by the goodies you get in the mail.
5. Fill balloons with vibrant paint, hang them on a white canvas and pop them with darts, or use a hair dryer to melt Crayons on a white canvas for a colorful, artistic creation.
6. Keep your summer body in shape with indoor rock climbing at Boulderdash. Better yet, venture outdoors to experience real rock climbing in Box Canyon.
7. Attempt to map out your family tree. Ask your parents, grandparents and anyone else in your family, and try to go back in history as far as you can.
8. Head over to Hollywood Forever Cemetery for a viewing of your favorite movie.
9. Go a day without technology. Spend your time at a park or beach, and spend quality time with friends and family, not distracted by texts, tweets, Instagram photos and Facebook updates.
10. Prepare for going back to high school: get your school supplies, backpack, locker items and color-coded notebooks and binders! If you are heading to college, plan your dorm room by choosing a color theme, figure out what pictures you will bring and buy a comforter, pillows and more!
