ZZ Ward
The House of Blues in West Hollywood was full of excited fans on Sept. 6 when ZZ Ward, an up-and-coming singer and performer, played an unforgettable set. This was just one of many destinations on her Down and Dirty Shine Tour.

Ward is best known for her hit “Til the Casket Drops,” which was featured in an episode of ABC Family’s “Pretty Little Liars.” She is also recognized for her unique style and dedicated musicianship. The crowd exuded great amounts of en- thusiasm and energy as they immediately recognized her songs. Ward took center stage as she captured attendees with her spunk and raw talent. Incorporating her performance with her lively personality, fans admired her unforgettable presence and felt that she added something special to each song that she sang.
Her soulful voice connected her to her fans in a way that made the whole venue feel her good vibes.

The Summer Set
After the release last April of The Summer Set’s latest album, Legendary, the band has become one of the most notable musicians of 2013. While the band has only been together since 2007, it has released three extended plays and two full- length studio albums before Legendary. They have also performed with bands such as All Time Low, The Cab and numerous others at the Vans Warped Tour. Two of the band’s singles from its full-length album Love Like This, “The Boys You Do” and “Love Like This,” have also been featured on Music Television show “The Hard Times of RJ Berger” in 2009.
The pop rock group’s single “Boomerang” has seen plenty of radio airtime this past summer. Along with success with Legendary, the band won Macy’s iHeart- Radio Rising Star Campaign over summer. The prize for winning this contest was the opportunity to perform at the iHeartRadio Music Festival on Sept. 21 alongside many of the hottest acts in the music industry including Justin Timberlake, Katy Perry, Drake, Queen and Maroon 5. Performances also aired on iHeartRadio. In addition, The Summer Set is performing around the country on the Journey’s Noise Tour along with headliners 30H!3, Wallpaper and New Beat Fund starting in Oct. This band has recently attracted many new fans interested in finding new music and is expected to become even more popular in the future.

The Lumineers
The Americana, pop, and folk band, The Lumineers is now on tour and per- forming in Los Angeles at the Greek Theater tomorrow and Saturday. Many fans anticipate that this show will be one of their best.
The Lumineers started with two childhood friends, Wesley Schultz and Jer- emiah Fraites in New York. Performing at every gig they could find in the chaos of the city while struggling to pay rent, the two friends left New York and moved to Denver, Colorado in hopes of a new start. Schultz and Fraites were on the lookout for a new cellist and finally found Neyla Pekarek, who soon became the newest addition to their band in 2010. A few years later in 2012 Seth Ulvang and Ben Wahamaki joined the band.
With their smooth and acoustic sound, the band made their way to stardom with their most popular song “Ho Hey.” Their debut album The Lumineers was released in 2012 and eventually reached number two on the Billboard 200 chart in Jan. 2013. The band’s album has been certified gold in the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Canada and certified platinum in Ireland. The band also won a Grammy for Best Americana Album and was nominated for Best New Artist in 2012.
