As film stars’ Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell’s new American romantic comedy becomes a major hit leading into 2024, everyone starts to gather different opinions on the rom com.
The film begins with Bea (Sydney Sweeney) and Ben’s (Glen Powell) attraction to each other whilst meeting at their local coffee shop. After hitting it off, Bea found herself overhearing Ben’s true feelings towards her which led it to go downhill quickly, the two found themselves at the same destination wedding months later. After bickering most of the trip, they decided to put on an act of dating so they wouldn’t ruin the wedding.
The film has gotten recognized through many social media platforms such as TikTok, Instagram, and Twitter. As people rush to their nearby theaters with friends and family, we start to notice many contrasting angles.
As the trailers and spoilers were being released, I personally had high expectations for the film. As a rom com lover myself, I was ready to compare the film to other classics like “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days,” “13 Going on 30” or “10 Things I Hate About You.”
Overall, the film was very disappointing but the two actors had an obvious chemistry. Throughout the movie, it was essentially just cheesy jokes and wasn’t as romantic as they made it out to be. Though it was a good escape from reality if you’re looking for a cute movie not anything iconic as fan favorite rom coms.
