Staffer’s top 5 looks from the Oscars

Staffer's top 5 looks from the Oscars

When the Oscars happened on Sunday at the Dolby Theater, many celebrities debuted their outfits on the Vanity Fair Oscar Party’s red carpet. Here are my top five favorite looks.

  1. John Mulaney (Left)

The cream-colored top… the lovely-looking button shirt… the stark-black bow tie that’s tilted a bit too much… the way all the colors flow together to create something simple yet elegant and appealing… it almost makes me forgive him for (allegedly) cheating on his wife.

  1. Rob France and Tan France

The couple came in coordinating their outfits with one wearing a sleek, ocean blue suit and the other wearing a sharp, red-accented suit. The contrast creates a lovely duality between the two celebrities. A fashion not usually seen in men’s wear.

  1. Cynthia Erivo

She arrived. She sang “Somewhere Over the Rainbow.” She lost an Oscar. She walked onto the Vanity Fair not-really-red carpet wearing the most ethereal dress of the night. What’s going on with the majority of this outfit? Does it even matter? The answer to both is no. She’s wearing a cloud with scattered accessories, and it looks beautiful.

  1. Kendall Jenner

Say what you will about Kendall Jenner– and there’s a lot you could say about Kendall Jenner– but she walked out onto that floor with looks that could slaughter. The dress is gorgeous, providing a powerful silhouette and a stunning look. It’s the kind of dress women kill men in, and she seems to know it.

  1. Selena Gomez

Simple. Sequene-y. Fabulous. She wore that dress and she wore it well. It hugs her figure and pools on the floor, altogether creating a lovely attire. The necklace and hair complete the look, really giving an old-Hollywood vibe to the whole outfit. If I could eat this dress, I wouldn’t. But I’d definitely take a few moments to consider it.
