Like to surf? Then jump on board the newest workout machine by SURFSET Fitness: the RipSurfer X. The RSX is a surfboard-inspired apparatus created to mimic the structure and function of a surfboard in water to provide a strenuous beach workout without the sand and salt water. At a mere 35 pounds, the board is easy to transport and can be taken anywhere, including the two gyms nearby that teach classes that utilize the board; 220 Fit in Santa Monica and Crunch Burbank in Burbank. However, for those who prefer to exercise in the comfort of their own home, there is the SURFSET Sessions Network, an online network of full training sessions, video clips and workout plans that the professional trainers of SURFSET fitness constantly update with new exercises. The activities done on the RSX fall into one of four programs: Burn, Build, Balance and Blend. The Burn program is focused on vigorous tasks to tone your core and shed fat. The Build program centers on strengthening and defining your body with resistance training. With inspirations from yoga, the Balance program includes drills that increase stability, flexibility, balance and overall body control. The Blend program adopts an interval-training method that combines all three aforementioned programs into one that imitates the actions of surfing for an arduous training session. The RipSurfer X can make exercise enjoyable and assists you in getting the desirably long and lean body of a professional surfer.
