Boys basketball closes in on playoff spot after two big victories
The Coyotes are closing in on a playoff spot after two convincing victories against Oaks Christan and Newbury Park.
The Coyotes started the week with a barrage of three pointers, taking down Oaks Christan 73-43. This game was characterized by the deadeye shooting of the Coyotes. Junior Gavin Murphy continued his impressive seeing by dropping 23 points on five threes. On top of that, Senior Parsa Ghoreishi shined by hitting his 3 of 3 threes.
The Coyotes’ impressive week continued as they would route Newbury Park, 78-62. The Coyotes stayed hot as they nailed 13 threes in their victory. Junior Niko Lobos impressed in a 22 point game, his new career high. Murphy extended his impressive season with 21 points and 6 assists. On top of that, junior Peter Gray put up an impressive double-double going for 16 points and 13 rebounds.
The Coyotes are 15-5 on the season and 4-2 in league play heading into a tough week. The team will play four games in five days as they play Thousand Oaks twice and Agoura twice.
