Calabasas defeats Oaks Christian in second series of the year, 2-1
After sweeping Thousand Oaks, the CHS baseball team edged out Oaks Christan to take sole position of first place in the Marmonte League.
Game 1 was a loss on the road, as the Coyotes could not find their bats with their one hit, courtesy of Devin Gasway. Sophomore Jordan Kingston threw for six strikeouts and allowed two runs in six innings pitched.
The Coyotes found their swing again in Game 2, beating Oaks Christan 7-0.
The game was broken open in the 5th inning, as senior Sam Grunberg hit a two RBI double to take the game from a 2-0 lead to a 4-0 lead. The Coyotes would go on to score three more runs later in the game. Junior Peter Lynch tossed five innings with seven strikeouts.
After tying the series up, the Coyotes won the rubber match, 5-2. Grunberg had a two-run home run as well as an RBI single. Senior Cooper Bobbit had an RBI single and senior Jordan Jaffe had a sac fly RBI.
