Throughout the month of October, CHS students showed their support for the fight against breast cancer by promoting awareness and raising money for research.

“It is important to raise awareness while also bringing the school together to help out a cause,” said ASB community outreach commissioner sophomore Paige Plaskoff.

Every Friday students were encouraged to dress in pink.  The Associated Student Body held a booth at lunch where they sold pink Pack t-shirts, tie-dye Soto hairbands, bracelets, pins and hair extensions.

All of the money raised by the school was donated to the Marni Fund, created in memory of CHS students freshman Booke and senior Jordyn Levine’s mother Marni Levine.

At the CHS Breast Cancer Awareness football game against Moorpark High School on October 14, the cheerleaders, Dance Team and the Pack all wore pink.

“[It was] rewarding experience to promote breast cancer awareness in public atmosphere,” said Dance Team member senior Briana Beghi.  “I feel like this year the school did a lot to show our support.”

CHS also held a homeroom competition to see which class could raise the most money for the cause. •
