On May 5, the CHS club Save a Child’s Heart will be organizing a charity fashion show called Couture for a Cause from 12 to 3 p.m. at the Agoura Hills/Calabasas Community Center. SACH is an Israeli-based nonprofit organization that raises money to help children who are diagnosed with a heart disease. One hundred percent of the profits from this event will be sent to Israel and will be used for necessary procedures. The costs of surgery, transportation and hospitalization amounts to about $10,000 per child. All models will be student volunteers whose hair and makeup will be done by Paul Mitchell.
Before the fashion show, boutiques such as Jane of Tarzana, Blee Inara, Studs of L.A. and Le Fashion Truck will be selling jewelry and clothing. Various food trucks such as Crepe’n Around will also be present. Each of these sponsors will donate a percentage of its sales to SACH.
“SACH helps anyone who has been diagnosed with a heart disease, regardless of race, financial situation, gender or origin,” said vice president of SACH junior Nima Natanzi. “It shows me how anyone can come together for one cause, in this case, curing pediatric heart diseases.”
