From July 7 to Aug. 15 the Calabasas Swim and Tennis Center will be holding the Teen Artist Exhibition. Kathy Milbrand, the coordinator of this event, has been trying to do this for years and will finally be able to execute her plans. She hopes this will help publicize the great teen artists in the Calabasas community.
“I think this is a great opportunity for all CHS art students to show their abilities,” said freshman Hope Trompeter.
The day before the exhibition, the judges will choose two winners from all the submissions. The art committee chooses one art piece as “Best of Show” and the public will choose the other winning piece which will be deemed as the “Viewer Choice.” The winner of the “Best of Show” will be announced the day before the exhibition begins on July 6 between 4-6 p.m. The artist must live in or attend high school in Calabasas. Only one piece of art per person may be submitted and only two-dimensional art may be submitted. Artwork containing profanity, nudity or offensive imagery will not be accepted.
All Calabasas students are encouraged to enter their artwork into this exhibit. More Teen Artist Expositions will be held in the future for aspiring Calabasas artists. A person must submit his or her artwork by May 15. Kathy Milbrand can be contacted for more information at (818) 222-2782 or [email protected].
