COVID-19 update: Cases begin to drop at CHS

COVID-19 cases continue to drop at CHS and across the district. As of Thursday, Feb. 10, only four CHS students and no staff were reported as active cases according to the LVUSD COVID Dashboard.

At a local level, just over 5,000 new cases were reported in Los Angeles County on Feb. 9. This represents a significant drop from daily numbers topping 40,000 in mid-January.

“Hospitalization numbers have been declining steadily since reaching over 4,800 in mid-January,” said ABC 7. “The number of COVID-positive patients in Los Angeles County hospitals has plunged below 3,000, falling to 2,841, according to the latest state numbers released Sunday.”

CHS administration continues to encourage appropriate mask usage and COVID reporting in weekly messages sent to families.
