LVUSD holds COVID-19 vaccine and testing clinics
On Wednesday, Feb. 23, LVUSD, in partnership with Albertsons, will hold a COVID-19 vaccine clinic at Lupin Hill Elementary School. The clinic will offer the second dose of the Pfizer vaccine as well as the third booster shot and is open to all ages 5 and up. Appointments can be made online, and participants should bring a consent form and their vaccination cards.
In addition to district vaccination clinics, CHS offers free COVID testing every Wednesday from 1:30 to 7:00 p.m. next to the front gate. Testing is appointment only unless a student is a member of a sports team.
Students who participate in indoor sports, including volleyball, basketball and wrestling, are required to test once a week. For most sports players, the on-campus testing window falls during practices or games, making it difficult to get to testing on time.
“I think a lot of kids skip testing because of the timing and having practice,” said Holland Kaplan, junior and member of the varsity volleyball team.
Nose swab tests are distributed by the Malibu Medical Group; Results should be available within 48-72 hours and are sent to the student’s email and the school for tracking purposes.
