Calabasas High’s ASB class is preparing an exciting year of memories and programs aimed at community, spirit and inclusion. The class hopes to bring the diverse student body together through upcoming events like Homecoming in October and pep rallies.

“I want to make sure all students have a pleasant experience at Calabasas High School, and especially freshmen that they feel this is a comfortable learning environment for them,” says Micheal Bronshteyn, ASB class president.

Bronsheyn’s motivation for these goals comes from his own freshman experience.

“It was kind of hard for me to adjust to high school. Luckily, I had an older sister who helped me out, but for people who don’t have someone like that in their lives, I want to be that person for them,” said Bronshteyn.

Bronshteyn wants to be a familiar face on campus to help and support new students. All 31 people in ASB are working toward this common goal.

“I mean, it’s really the whole class that comes together. Everyone works together, and then we have an advisor, Mr. Markell, who kind of supports us all and watches over us and guides us,” said Bronshteyn.

For seniors, ASB is prioritizing creating a memorable last year for students, with both smaller and larger events, ranging from prom to movie nights.

“We just had senior spaghetti night, little events [like that] that hopefully people will tell their kids about one day and how it made their high school experience more enjoyable,” Bronshteyn said.

Students outside of ASB are also encouraged to participate in activities by volunteering or showing support by attending.

“I think always try to participate in everything and try to get involved and slowly you find stuff that you’re interested in and can pursue them, but just always say yes to stuff and try to get involved in any way you can,” said Bronshteyn.
