First official football game of the season: CHS Homecoming
On March 20, CHS finally has a homecoming football game, this Saturday, against Crespi. It will be the Coyotes’ first official game of the season, and will be accompanied by the announcement of a Homecoming Court at halftime.
The difference between this year’s game and the previous games is that there will be no school dance. Those who win homecoming court will still receive their crowns in person. During halftime, the cheer squad and dance team will perform and the homecoming court will be announced. The winners will remain socially distant as they walk along the field.
“Unlike the years prior, each football player, cheerleader and homecoming royal is only allowed two family members,” said ASB Campus Entertainment Director Kylie Kurzban. “This greatly reduces the number of people attending.”
Contrary to the previous years, fans are not allowed in attendance for this game. The only people permitted to watch are family members of the homecoming court nominees. ASB has decided to livestream the game to still allow some form of student attendance during the game.
“To allow more students and families to watch the game, we decided it would be beneficial to live stream [the game],” said Kurzban. “This way the students can still keep up with the game while being safe.”
