2021 Senior Activities
After a year of distance learning, last night began a run of four ASB-sponsored, COVID-safe senior events and activities.
Last night, the class of 2021 gathered together at the PAEC to enjoy a senior movie night. From 6:30pm to 8:30pm, the seniors watched High School Musical 3.
On May 27th, the seniors will head to the beach for a senior beach day. It is free to attend and lunch will be provided for everyone there. Students have the choice to take the bus from school to the beach, or drive themselves by filling out a transportation waiver.
“We will be at the beach from 10am to 2pm,” said Weissman. “Students who choose to drive will be required to pay for their own parking.”
The class of 2021’s prom will be taking place on June 5th at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library. This prom will be a class dinner for seniors. To limit the number of attendees, only CHS seniors are allowed to attend prom this year. Seniors will arrive at 7pm and have the option to stay until 10pm.
“There will be assigned seating at prom for the dinner,” said CHS Senior Class Officer Emma Glasser. “So it is essential that seniors buy their tickets with their friends.”
Tickets go on sale at the student store on May 10th through May 21st for the price of $120. After May 21st, the prices will rise to $140 until June 3rd, when ticket sales end. All of these senior events are ensured that they will be COVID-safe with strict guidelines and procedures.
“To attend all senior events, you must follow these guidelines,” said Weissman. “You either have to have proof of a negative COVID-19 test, or proof that you are fully vaccinated.”
ASB has also announced that the class of 2021’s graduation ceremony will be taking place on June 10th at CHS. Each graduate is allowed 4 guests to attend. More details will be shared as we approach graduation.
