Q: Dear Chelsea,
I had a long term boyfriend my first two years of high school. We broke up a few months ago and now I am finally over him. Recently, he’s been texting me, begging for me back. Although a part of me still loves him, my brain tells me not to return and instead to venture away. What should I do?
-The “ex” factor
A: Well, It is hard for me to tell you what is right for you in this case. First, remember that even though having a boyfriend may seem like the most important thing right now, it is not. Your last two years of high school are some of the most important, and stressful, times of your life. If you don’t have time to commit to dating then the answer is simple; don’t do it. Also ask yourself why you two broke up in the first place…was he cheating? Abusive? Annoying? Or maybe you just drifted apart? Whatever the case, think about if getting back together with him will be better for you. Sleep on it and when the time comes to make a decision, follow your instincts!
