ASB cancels CHS Got Talent

CHS’ first ever “CHS Got Talent” talent show was set to take place Feb. 10, with auditions planned for Feb. 2. However, after only one sign-up as of Jan. 31, ASB has made the decision to cancel preparations for the show.

While ASB hoped that students would be excited about the opportunity to perform for one another, the lack of registrations seems to show otherwise.

“Sadly, very few people signed up to participate in the talent show, so we had to cancel the event,” said ASB Vice President Maya Katz, with confirmation from ASB Advisor Kelly Ortiz. “We were very optimistic that people would sign up because everyone loves watching our students perform, but the lack of participants led to the cancellation of this event.”

This is the second ASB student show that has been called off due to lack of student body participation, following the cancellation of last year’s “Lip-Sync Battle.” ASB encourages students to move past fears of embarrassment for future shows.

“I hope students aren’t embarrassed to perform in front of the school, but that might be the reason why we aren’t getting sign-ups,” said Katz.
