Singer Rex Orange County, whose given name is Alexander O’Connor, has been charged with six counts of sexual assault in the U.K.

At an Oct. 10 court hearing, O’Conner was charged with two counts of assault in the West End on Jun. 1, and four counts of assault the next day, once in a taxi and three in his Notting Hill house, all of a woman over the age of 16. He pleaded not guilty and has been released on unconditional bail. A trial is currently set for Jan. 3, 2023.

“Alex is shocked by the allegations, which he denies, and looks forward to clearing his name in court,” said a representative of O’Conner in a statement, according to The Sun. “He is unable to make any further comment because of the ongoing proceedings.”

On Jul. 2 of this year, O’Conner canceled upcoming tour dates in his 2022 World Tour throughout Europe, Australia and New Zealand, citing personal reasons on social media.

O’Connor is known for his feature on Tyler, the Creator’s 2017 Grammy-nominated album Flower Boy, as well as his newest album, Who Cares?, which was released this past March.
