Drake surprised many fans on May 15 when he dropped three new albums at the same time: Iceman, Maid of Honor, and Habibti. The release featured over 40 songs, multiple famous features, and several diss tracks that quickly became some of the most talked-about songs online. Listeners immediately flooded social media with reactions, making the albums trend across music platforms and TikTok.

Fans had already been waiting for Iceman because Drake had teased the album for months before it came out. However, nobody expected him to release two extra albums alongside it. Each project had a completely different sound. Iceman focused more on rap and aggressive diss tracks, Habibti had emotional songs about relationships and heartbreak, and Maid of Honor had more upbeat, dance-style music. The different sounds helped each album stand out while still feeling connected.

“I honestly liked how all three albums sounded different from each other,” CHS junior Isabella Rabani said. “Maid of Honor was more upbeat and fun, which made the whole release more exciting to listen to. I think having different styles helped keep fans interested in all three albums instead of them sounding the same.”

Another major reason people talked about the albums was the featured artists, including Future, 21 Savage, Central Cee, PARTYNEXTDOOR, Sexyy Red, and Popcaan, who all appeared in different songs. Listeners online especially reacted to songs like “Ran to Atlanta,” “Which One,” and “Cheetah Print,” which quickly became some of the most streamed songs from the release. Many listeners were surprised by some of the collaborations because of Drake’s public drama with several artists in the past.

“Collaborations with PARTYNEXTDOOR, Love Shimmy, and Sexyy Red add different layers of texture and energy throughout the albums. Here, Drake returns to the signature late-night, emotionally drenched sound that first made fans connect with him — smooth melodies, toxic romance, reflective confessionals, and that slow-burning heartbreak vibe he’s mastered over the years,” according to the music publication RNB

Besides the features, many listeners focused on the diss tracks from Iceman. Drake seemed to take shots at rivals like Kendrick Lamar and Pusha T throughout multiple songs. Tracks such as “Make Them Cry” and “Whisper My Name” became some of the biggest topics online after fans tried to figure out who the lyrics were aimed at. The songs sparked debates all over social media and helped keep the albums trending for days after release.

“I think the diss tracks were one of the biggest reasons people kept talking about Iceman,” CHS junior Dani Vaisman said. “A lot of people were trying to figure out who Drake was talking about, and it made the songs more interesting to listen to. Every time I went on TikTok or Instagram, I saw people discussing the lyrics and sharing their opinions about them.”
