CHS introduces new clubs

When the new semester begins, new clubs are added to Calabasas’s already growing club registry. On February 19th, the new clubs debuted in the upper quad, broadcasting their new status for anyone to join.

Clubs are key to finding friends and building connections in a high school environment. Different clubs are created with a lot of creativity. From Women in Stem to the Pickleball Club, they all have their own personalities and goals.

One of the new clubs at CHS is Write Club. Its title and posters pay homage to Fight Club.

“It’s where we write fiction for fun,” said the president of the club, Aiden Davidson.

Another new is the Public Speaking and Presentation Club.

“Our club is to build confidence for those who feel they are less skilled in public speaking,” said the club’s president, Nolan Dumke.

A host of other clubs surrounded the upper quad. Hike and Heal, The Book Bank, Wellness Wave, and Test Prep are some of the many stations scattered around the field.

“In mock trial, we simulate courtroom proceedings [that are] fully managed by real attorneys [and] real judges… you can win awards and make connections,” said Rachel Lowe, the president of the Mock Trial club.

Clubs are highly encouraged at CHS and very welcoming to anyone who wants to participate in one. With thirty new clubs entering the playing field, the opportunities are vast.
