The last thing one would expect from their classroom on a Friday afternoon is vigorous laughter. At the end of each month, the KYOTV team aims to bring the weekend to fourth period. The team strives to celebrate CHS’ events and accomplishments with smartly crafted sketches. (Left to Right) Ben Goldstein, Theo Buckwald, Mollie Rubin and Jack Federman.

Jack Federman

Whether he is filming or just socializing with friends, senior Jack Federman never fails to make students laugh. This year, Federman has creative and inspiring plans in order to revolutionize KYOTV.

Their group began to form when senior Theo Buckwald saw Federman’s audition and immediately wanted him to join his team. Federman was ecstatic to find out that his group was chosen to continue the KYOTV tradition.

“Honestly, I’ve wanted to audition for KYOTV since freshman orientation,” said Federman. “Last year after the ‘KY-NO-TV’ incident, I decided that this was definitely something I had to do.”

Federman is in disbelief that this is his last year of high school. His main goal is to enable students to relate to each episode. Federman hopes that every person on campus will laugh, cry and question their very existence. He hopes to make the best of his KYOTV experience and share his love of comedy with the entire CHS community.

Theo Buckwald

For as long as he can remember, senior Theo Buckwald dreamed of obtaining the notorious KYOTV glory. From an early age, Buckwald discovered the CHS tradition and began watching the episodes. He found them hilarious and soon fell in love with the actors’ charm and charisma. From then on, he aspired to be like the legendary KYOTV members.

Buckwald has been planning his KYOTV takeover since freshman year. After partnering up with senior Ben Goldstein, the duo assembled the rest of the team, collaborating to create a formula for a perfect season.

“We want to make a distinct style — especially for KYOTV,” said Buckwald.

Buckwald revealed that the sketches will have some new elements, different from those of previous years. Although they will still have coverage of school events, there will be some new surprises.

“This was something I’ve always wanted,” said Buckwald. “To finally be a member of KYOTV is surreal.”

Mollie Rubin

Senior Mollie Rubin is honored to have the one-of-a-kind experience of being one of KYOTV’s newest stars. This year, Rubin plans to work hard and dedicate herself to better each episode of KYOTV and make it even more entertaining than the previous years.

“We want each and every episode to trigger some weird emotion,” said Rubin. “Every skit seems silly and random on the surface, but if you re-watch them there’s always a deeper meaning behind everything.”

Having been a part of the theater and broadcasting programs at CHS, Rubin is no stranger to the spotlight. During her performances, she is always able to remain condfident and poised and cannot wait to put her skills to the test this year.

Being a part of KYOTV is a serious commitment that takes a lot of determination. Although it may be difficult, Rubin and her fellow castmates are up to the task. They promise to release monthly episodes that are fully informative yet leave you rolling on the floor laughing.

Ben Goldstein

Senior Ben Goldstein began his mission for KYOTV stardom during middle school, after a high school friend became involved with the sketches. Due to his efforts to achieve his goal of being on KYOTV, Goldstein was able to appear with the hilarious team that we see during the last Friday of each month.

After being picked for the 2014-2015 season of KYOTV, Goldstein began crafting ideas with the rest of the team. He hopes to live up to the expectations of the student body, being especially concerned with the frequency of episodes.

“One of our goals is constant output,” said Goldstein, “We’re going to try to put out more episodes than have ever been put out before.”

For each episode, Goldstein plans to incorporate the wide variety of student interests at CHS. He wants to prevent any exclusion by avoiding the use of inside jokes.

“We don’t want anyone to be left out and will do our best to reach every student at CHS,” said Goldstein.
