Girls basketball season ends with loss to La Salle, 66-45
On Feb.19, the girls basketball team was defeated by the La Salle Lancers in the quarter-finals, 66-45. The team was led by sophomore Amia Watt, who scored 19 points, and sophomore Maddy Tauro, who scored 14 points.
Both teams were evenly matched in the first quarter, finishing the quarter tied, 17-17. The game would be dominated by the Lancers from then on as they led at halftime, 37-28. The Lancers continued the lead late as they outscored the Coyotes in the fourth quarter, 21-11.
This game closes the book on a great season for the girls team. They ended the season with an overall record of 22-7, and a 6-4 league record. Watt lead the team this season in points, rebounds and blocks.
The team’s future is bright as they will be returning all of their starters, most of whom are sophomores.
