Kayne Miller to continue family football legacy at USC

Kayne Miller to continue family football legacy at USC

Kayne Miller was officially recognized at the CHS Winter Signing Day on Wednesday, February 4, for his commitment to the University of Southern California, which he announced in early December. The Calabasas High School senior will be joining the Trojans football team, alongside his older brothers, King and Kaylon Miller.

Kayne commented on becoming part of the team his brothers are on and the legacy they have built.

“Being able to join the team alongside my older brothers means everything to me,” Miller said. “They set the standard growing up, and while I’m proud to continue what they’ve already built, I know I have to earn my own spot.”

Miller plays both running back and cornerback, but he made his biggest impact on offense during his high school career. Over the past season, he rushed for more than 1,400 yards and 17 touchdowns, becoming one of the most productive running backs in Southern California. He is currently ranked No. 260 within the state of California.

USC offered Kayne a preferred walk-on opportunity in October, and he officially signed his commitment to the Trojans. During the signing event in the gym, Miller’s coaches commended him not only for his performance on the field but also for his character and dedication to the team. His coaches also highlighted the support and commitment shown by his family throughout his football career playing at CHS.

Miller explained his reasons for committing to USC.

Miller said, “I chose USC because it felt like more of a home from the beginning. The coaching staff believed in me. The culture matched how I was raised. And I know USC would help me grow on and off the field.”

After signing with the Trojans, Miller was surrounded by teammates and friends who gathered to celebrate the moment and take photos together.

Teachers and coaches both described Miller as a student with strong character, and that his discipline in the classroom was equal to the effort he put on the field.

Miller described his hopes for his college football career and the effort he will put into his new team.

“Coming in, my goal is to work, learn, and do whatever the team needs. I’m focused on getting better every day and becoming someone teammates and coaches can rely on,” he said.

Miller has been a part of the CHS football program since his freshman year and has developed into a standout player.

As he prepares to continue his football career at USC, coaches believe that his strong work ethic and determination will help him succeed.
