Looking for a way to dazzle CHS with your stellar singing? Make your way over to the choir/band room to audition for Unstrumental, Calabasas’ High School’s co-ed a cappella group!

Auditions were held yesterday at lunch and will continue until Thursday at lunch. You must have one verse and a chorus from your favorite contemporary song prepared for the audition as well as for callbacks. Callbacks will be Tuesday, Sept. 3. However, you are only eligible if you are enrolled in a music class this year.

The vocalists work with no instruments, creating all background sounds with their mouths, hence the title “Unstrumental.”  The 2013-2014 Unstrumental directors are Cooper Koch, who will be beginning his second year in Unstrumental, and Ellie Ballin, who will be entering her third year. The renowned vocal group has placed in second two years in a row at the Los Angeles A Cappella Festival.
