For years now, CHS had held every school dance, with the exception of prom, in the school gym. However, along with the New Year comes a new innovative idea. This year’s spring formal, A Splash of Color, will be held outside under the picturesque California night sky.
“Having a dance outside is an escape from the sweaty confinements of the gym,” said senior Kate Korchek. “Hopefully this will be a new experience differing from past dances.”
Since the dance is being held outside, the discussion of the weather has been a big topic here at CHS. However, many students fail to realize that the dance takes place in March, and the temperature will start to heat up. Heaters will be provided at the dance to keep the chill of the night out, and the Associated Student Body has a back-up plan if the rain decides to dampen everyone’s good time. The plan is to relocate everyone indoors to keep the party going.
Take your worries away on the night of the dance since there is no need to fear the weather. Even if Mother Nature has her odds against the dance, ASB has an alternative plan to make sure the party does not stop. No matter what the weather is, A Splash of Color is sure to be a memorable night for everyone.
