Students' response to connect and reflect activities

To support the new cell phone policy at Calabasas High School, the administration has initiated “Connect and Reflect ” activities, which are available to students during lunchtime, as a fun way to take a break from screens and connect with their peers.

While these activities are optional, the connect-and-reflect activities are among the students’ highlights of their day. From day to day, these activities change to give students a chance to try out different activities. From bonding through mindful art to having fun with karaoke, the connect-and-reflect activities always cater to Calabasas High School’s diverse student population.

Calabasas High School 12th grader Leonie Delove enjoys the activities, but especially the Karaoke.

“It’s really fun. They’re very, very, very welcoming, like they treat everybody so special,” said Delove.

Calabasas High School Teacher, Ms. Rivera, exclaims that these connect and reflect activities create a positive environment for students to enjoy during their Nutrition and Lunch breaks.

“Like, if you notice, it creates an uplifting environment and everyone is having a good time,” said Rivera.“Usually, you see everybody having a good time.

CHS 11th grader, Rodrick Allan, exclaims that he really enjoys these activities and that these activities have offered positivity to his time at school.

“It’s making a positive impact on this year’s classes and stuff,” said Allan.

Overall, these connect and reflect activities have made an impact on students at Calabasas High School, and students enjoy the positive environment that these activities instill.
