As Calabasas High School seniors, the next chapter of their lives, the final few months will leave the class of 2026 with countless memories. On February 23, Calabasas High School held a senior meeting early in the morning at the PAEC, with bagels and donuts as a complimentary breakfast.
Calabasas High School Senior, Carter Troung, shared his thoughts on the presentation.
“It made me look ahead to everything they were saying and all the different dates with such an exciting feeling. You hear about all these fun things you do the last few months of your senior year in the early days of high school. When you actually experience it and have that to look forward to, it’s a great feeling,” Troung said.
An overview of various senior activities were discussed during the presentation. One unique activity mentioned in the meeting was the elementary school walk. Seniors have the opportunity to RSVP to walk in their caps and gowns at the elementary school they attended.
Calabasas High School senior Ethan Buccelli shared his thoughts on walking through his past school.
“I think it’s pretty cool how we can walk in gowns at our old elementary school we used to attend. It’s really nostalgic and fulfilling to go back to the place we started with school and meeting friends that I still have in my life today,” Buccelli said.
The next topic was about the much-anticipated Grad Night at Disneyland, which will take place on June 5th. Students will depart from school at 2:00 PM and spend the entire evening and early morning at the park., There they can ride roller coasters, eat, and hang out with their friends. For many seniors, this will be a long and memorable night at the happiest place on earth.
Carter Troung shared his enthusiasm for Disneyland Grad Night.
“Honestly, I can’t wait. Getting to go to Disneyland is going to be super fun. Also, going in the afternoon until 4:00 AM the next day is even better too. So I’m really looking forward to it,” Troung said.
The announcement of the prom theme and location was made at the end of the meeting. It was revealed that prom will be at Candela La Brea, in Los Angeles, with the theme being a night in Vegas. Candela La Brea is known for hosting weddings, parties, concerts, and private events. No doubt, seniors are very excited to experience an amazing night at Prom.
Bucceli shared his opinions on the reveal of the location and theme of Prom this year.
“Them announcing where it’s going to be was the big reason for going [to the meeting]. Also, I think the theme being a night in Vegas is cool and fun. Having different card tables or games there will be nice. The place it will be at looks very nice too,” Buccelli said.
The final item covered in the meeting was the graduation rehearsal taking place on June 10th, the day before the graduation ceremony. The rehearsal will let students know what to do and where to be during the actual event.
As seniors left the meeting, the reality of the last few months of high school sank in. Every activity, event, and deadline laid out a painted picture of what the end of their high school career will look like.
“It’s really crazy. I felt like I was just a freshman, and now I’m almost out of here. It’s definitely an exciting feeling, and getting to start a new journey with whatever colleges people choose to go to. Obviously, it could be stressful, but overall I’m in a good headspace about it and can’t wait to enjoy these final few months,” Troung said.
It’s safe to say the 2026 senior class has a fun and memorable time coming over the next few months before they start their next adventure and phase of their lives. Cheers to the class of 2026.
