CHS seniors celebrate their final dance at Vegas-themed prom

For many seniors at Calabasas High School, prom is more than just a dance; it is one of the final opportunities to celebrate together before graduation. This year’s senior prom, themed A Night in Vegas, brought students together for an evening filled with music, memories, and one last chance to enjoy the excitement of senior year. Held at La Bra Candela, the event transformed the venue into a Las Vegas-inspired experience and gave seniors a night they will remember long after graduation.

The Vegas theme was present throughout the night, creating an atmosphere that felt energetic and glamorous. From decorations inspired by the bright lights of Las Vegas to students arriving dressed for the occasion, the event captured the feeling of a special night out. Seniors spent the evening dancing, taking photos with friends, and enjoying one of the biggest traditions of the school year.

Calabasas senior Ava Tzour described the experience as a memorable way for seniors to celebrate before the year comes to an end.

“Prom was honestly such a fun night,” Tzour said. “It felt really special because everyone was together and just enjoying being seniors. The theme made it exciting, and it felt like one of those moments you know you’re going to remember.”

Calabasas senior Jenna Gesas said the atmosphere of the night made prom feel even more memorable.

“I loved getting ready with my friends and seeing everyone all dressed up,” Gesas said. “The whole night felt really exciting, and it was nice having one last big event together before graduation.”

For many students, one of the most meaningful parts of the night came before the dancing even began: the senior montage. The video featured photos of students throughout their high school years, creating an emotional moment for the senior class.

As the montage played, students watched clips and pictures that reminded them how quickly the past four years had passed. Laughter spread through the room as everyone reacted to old photos, while others reflected on moments from elementary school, middle school, and their time at CHS.

Tzour said the montage stood out as one of the highlights of the evening.

“The senior montage was probably my favorite part,” she said. “Seeing everyone during senior year and remembering all the memories we’ve made together was really emotional. It made everything feel more real.”

Senior Peyton Waxberg from CHS said the montage helped students reflect on how much they had experienced together over the years.

“Watching the montage made me realize how fast high school went by,” Waxberg said. “It was emotional seeing all the memories on the screen, but it also made me really grateful for the people I met here.”

While prom is traditionally known for dancing and celebration, events like the montage reminded students that graduation is approaching quickly. For many seniors, the night represented both excitement and nostalgia as they reflected on friendships and experiences they had shared throughout high school.

As the night continued at La Brea Candela, students filled the dance floor and celebrated together, making the most of one of their last major events as a class. With graduation approaching, A Night in Vegas served as a reminder that while senior year may be coming to an end, the memories made along the way will last much longer.
