Senior Profiles: Jessie Cesaro

Columbia Hollywood University

Cinematography and Film

Acting is a talent that Jessica Cesaro discovered at the young age of six and has continued ever since. She has found a way to express herself through the characters that she portrays and the stories that they tell. With her passion for both film and acting, Cesaro desires to major in cinematography and film at Columbia Hollywood University while also pursuing her career in acting.

“What I really enjoy about acting is that I can live so many lives and have so many experiences in the life that I was given” said Cesaro. “I get to have so many experiences that I would normally miss if I wasn’t on set.”

Cesaro has been in acting classes for most of her life; when she was younger, she pursued drama and musical theater, but focused more on cinema as she grew older. In addition, she has also taken interest in cinematography and has taken both levels of the film appreciation class at CHS. Following in the footsteps of notable actors and actresses before her, Cesaro wants to not only to act but to write, direct, produce and design sets as well.

“I want to do it all,” said Cesaro. “I want to live life to the fullest, that’s my goal for the future.”

Cesaro spends countless hours of her free time practicing what it takes to be a phenomenal actor. She is currently enrolled in acting classes three days a week, in which she rehearses scenes that she often has to memorize in a short period of time. When she is not practicing, she is analyzing movies and techniques from famous actors such as Will Smith and Jennifer Lopez.

“I’ve learned to look at the beauty of things: not just what captures the eye, but also what is below the surface and all of the undertones,” said Cesaro. “I get to view a different perspective of the world and have a new set of eyes. I incorporate my own experiences into the characters’. I get to be creative, imaginative and express myself freely.”
