Although disc-jockeying at bat mitzvahs, school dances and birthday parties and traveling the world to work on community service projects may seem daunting to some, Jacob Nober would not want to have his life any other way. Nober has been disc-jockeying with his co-disc jockey, Nick Rivera, since 2005 and has been climbing up the ladder of success ever since he began.

“I really understand how to work with people,” said Nober. “I know how to cater to each audience I play for in a specific way in order to ensure an upbeat and fun time.”

Nober has also been a part of the counselor program at Camp Harmony and at Camp Alonim. In addition, he spent two weeks in Fiji in the summer of 2010, helping citizens learn, build and restore their community.

“The fact that I have been privileged enough to travel and volunteer around the world is something that I will forever appreciate,” said Nober. “Living in a third world country for two weeks is an experience that I will forever cherish.”

Nober recently returned from March of the Living where he traveled to Poland and Israel to interact with holocaust survivors, visit concentration camps and connect with 200 other Jewish students from the Los Angeles area. The trip was life-changing for Nober.

Next year Nober will attend the University of California, Los Angeles. He hopes to continue to make music in college and disc jockey at events on campus.
