While it may not seem so, the various places on campus where students tend to congregate can reveal a great deal about the students. Factors in students’ favoring spots over others can be due to peers, teachers, convenience, or the overall environment. Many students enjoy hanging out with their friends in quiet, comfortable areas.
Arusha Imanzahri, a Freshman at Calabasas, explains that her favorite place on campus is near the student store.
“It is very desolate. You can make a small community over there, it’s not very loud, it’s separate from the lunch tables, so it’s not too crowded, but it’s overall pretty quiet there,” said Imanzahri.
Others enjoy hanging out in teachers’ classrooms because of the sense of support, safety, or comfort they achieve there. Such a student as Freshman Morgan Dishlip.
“My favorite place to be on campus is the French classroom because Madame Didierjean makes me feel very comfortable and safe when learning a new language,” said Dishlip.
Another Freshman, Varnika Pillala, reflects this sentiment about her favorite place on campus.
“I like Ms. Lynch’s room because shes really nice and lets me use her art supplies,” said Pillala.
Other students enjoy hanging out where it is most convenient for them. Freshman Darien Gats enjoys hanging out at the tables near the band room.
“We just have classes in band, and all my friends are usually there,” said Gats.
Overall, Calabasas High School encompasses an abundance of areas targeting comfort and convenience for its students.
